1971 NSU Prinz
Restoration Project - Motor Sport
Our idea was to use the Porsche 912 that we restored last year as a Historic Rally car that we would hire to clients to compete with. After spending £18,000 on the 912 restoration to original spec it is probably too valuable at the moment to allow on rallies.
As an alternative to the Porsche we have purchased a 1971 NSU Prinz. The car needs a full restoration and while the work is being carried out we will upgrade all aspects of the car to TTS spec. These little 4 cylinder 996cc cars can produce up to 90BHP with only 649kg, making them true pocket rockets and should prove competition for the Mini’s and Imps. The NSU was winning races in the early nineties and is still extensively raced in Europe.
Unfortunately I have to go in for an operation on my right shoulder early October which will leave me unable to start the restoration until December. Meanwhile I am buying parts when and where I can, most of them from the south of England so I will do a run down early December to pick them all up so we can get started. On the list of parts I still need to find are a TT or TTS engine, TTS inlet manifold and carbs, disc braked front axle, suspension upgrades and wheels.Go to page: 1 2
