Caledonian Classics Highland Fling Weekend Tour
Details Of The Tour
Set over three days, we expect to cover approximately 500 miles - our next tour is set for September 2017
Assembly point is at our base in Dollar where the cars will be handed over after a brief operational demonstration, the route and map books will be issued to all drivers and co drivers. We will then head to the Highlands. Our route will take us on the A91 to Milnathort, then North to Perth on the A912 then onto the A94 to Scone and Cupar Angus. We then take the A923 to Blairgowrie, onto the A93 and a stop for lunch. After lunch we will head north over the Spittal of Glen Shee to Braemer and then onto Balmoral (the summer home of the Queen). We then go onto a single track road for the short trip onto the A939, then north to Tomintoul, Speyside and our destination Granton on Spey.
After breakfast we head north to Nairn on the Moray Firth, we then head west towards Inverness, past the famous Cullodn battle field and onto the A82 skirting the famous shore of Loch Ness and Fort Augustus for lunch. After lunch onto the B862 north along the dramatic south coast of Loch Ness to Dores, onto Daviot onto the A9 Carrbridge and returning to Granton on Spey a distillery tour is planned either before or after we return to the hotel.
After breakfast we head to take the B970 to Nethy Bridge and onto Coylumbridge and then onto B9152 until we join the A9 heading south at Kingussie. We continue south on the A9 till we get to Ballinluig where we take the A827 to Aberfeldy where we stop for lunch then its south of the A826 to Crieff and then onto Auchterarder through Glen Devon and returning to Dollar.
Mechanical Back Up
Mechanical back up is provided by Mr. Alex Stewart and Mr. Will Little.
We will Drive a 4X4 vehicle and follow the tour, in the unlikely event of a mechanical problem we are equipped with spare parts and tools. We are responsible for the daily cleaning and checking of the cars fluid levels and if required removing the convertible hoods.
