PORSCHE 912 1968
The 912 is our latest acquisition. While on one of Caledonian Classic’s car tours in Inverness, someone we met at a restaurant mentioned his friend had a 1960’s Porsche for sale. Unable to resist I went for a look and became the proud owner of one of my favourite cars.
It was bought as an MOT failure with a full history. When I got it back to base and was able to give it a full inspection I found the car was totally original and had never had any welding or restoration work carried out. We are currently removing all the body panels and interior to assess what is required. I will update the site every couple of weeks with pictures and let you know how we are getting on.
Cheers, Alex.

Our first job was to start stripping the car down which involved a complete removal of the interior, engine, gearbox, body panels, steering, suspension and brakes so all we are left with is the shell. I have sent the body panels to be sand blasted locally in Central Scotland. I am thoroughly checking over the engine and gearbox and my carefully prepared parts list is getting longer and more expensive by the day. |
